Equipment signals gain meaning in SCADA and history. Validated production records move to MES/ERP; approved work instructions can flow back. The connection method depends on your systems.

1. Define the transaction
Identify the plant event and the NetSuite record it should affect. Confirm product, work-order, location, unit, and quality context. Finance and operations should agree when a completion or consumption is ready to post.
2. Confirm the account interface
Review the supported API, account features, record availability, authentication, permissions, and request limits. Prove access with a representative transaction in a suitable test environment before connecting live production.
3. Validate before posting
Reject missing references, incompatible units, and impossible values before they affect inventory. Route exceptions to a person who can resolve them. Retain enough context to explain the original event.
4. Design for retries
A timeout does not prove the destination rejected the record. Use an agreed unique identifier and duplicate-detection approach, retain pending transactions where required, and check the destination state before retrying uncertain work.
5. Reconcile and commission
Test rejected records, a network outage, an ERP outage, duplicate submissions, and delayed recovery. Reconcile the source and destination counts before expanding. The commissioning scope should name the owner of exceptions and the acceptance criteria.
